Operations Management Trainee – RYKER
Location:
Rancho Dominguez, CA
Shift: Tuesday through Saturday
Salary:
Paid Weekly (approximately $53k-$56k annually)
Summary
The Operations Management Trainee will support shop management, assist in cost savings, customer retention, and metric‑based initiatives. The program is fast‑paced, cross‑functional across Operations, Asset Management, Sales, Quality, and Rental Management. Trainees gain a deep understanding of operations and fleet maintenance and can advance to an Ops Supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Provide quality customer interface through proactive management and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with rental department to maximize utilization without compromising lease customers.
- Partner with sales staff on new business calls to increase customer satisfaction.
- Manage running costs and maintenance overhead to optimize efficiency.
- Ensure accurate preventive‑maintenance scheduling, follow‑up, and vehicle status updates.
- Oversee technician work planning for efficiency, training, and flexibility.
Additional Responsibilities
- Relocation within the business unit at the end of the training program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to multi‑task, highly organized, and time‑management skills.
- Prioritization ability and flexibility in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong mechanical skills and effective interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with PC applications (spreadsheets, word processing).
- Basic understanding of business finance, controls, and metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- One (1) year or more of customer service with issue resolution experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $53,000 – $56,000 per year.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; paid time off; 401(k) with employer match.
- Paid weekly.
