Controller, Management, Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting functions for a growing transportation company. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the company’s continued growth.

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• Manage cash flow, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in partnership with leadership
• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations relevant to the transportation industry
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team as the company grows
• Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to support scalability

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• CPA license (required)
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or management experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience in transportation, logistics, distribution, or a similar operational industry preferred
• Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
