The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. ** Description of Work
** This position of Correction Enterprise Supervisor II is responsible for training offenders in the safe, proper, and most efficient operation of equipment and practices utilized in a sewing manufacturing operation, while ensuring quality and quantity standards in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations.
This employee will organize and direct work assignments of offenders and set up of equipment for processing of raw materials. They will also prepare a variety of written reports involving subjects such as inventory levels, equipment specifications, offender incidents, incentive wage payroll and production schedules.
The work environment may involve exposure to noise, dust fumes, dangerous machinery, chemical body fluids and fallen objects. This may require the use of personal protective equipment (such as ear plugs/muff, safety glasses, respirators, protective clothing, etc. and/or personal protective equipment used in sewing operation).

** Experience with hands-on sewing equipment & tools. (ex. Machines press snips, etc.)
* Experience in a production manufacturing environment.
* Experience order and receiving merchandise
* Supervisory experience with skilled & unskilled workers.
