As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Accounting Manager to oversee and manage all accounting functions. This is a key position and member of our leadership team that will have significant influence on the company's financial processes and long-term success.
Position Overview:As the Accounting Manager
, you will be the highest accounting professional within the company and will take ownership of all financial reporting, accounting functions, and internal controls. You will manage and develop a small accounting team, currently consisting of one Full-Time Employee, while ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This is a hands-on role requiring proficiency in Quick Books, along with a deep understanding of financial systems and processes.
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports for senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Review and maintain the general ledger to ensure proper classification of transactions.
- Monitor cash flow and work with management to develop cash management strategies.
- Collaborate with auditors for the preparation of annual financial audits and ensure all documentation is accurate and ready for review.
- Oversee and mentor the accounting team member, ensuring their continued development and alignment with company goals.
- Maintain and optimize Quick Books for efficient financial reporting and integration with other business systems.
- Establish, implement, and refine internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on accounting-related matters to senior management.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems and processes to support company growth.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to provide financial insight and ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred, but not required).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, ideally in a mid-sized, fast-growing company.
- Strong experience using Quick Books for financial management and reporting.
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proven ability to manage and develop accounting teams and build a collaborative work environment.
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
