Overview

Distribution Center Manager position in Columbus, Ohio. Job Type: Full-Time. Base pay range: $/yr - $/yr. This position oversees daily operations of the Columbus facility, supervising two team managers and managing warehouse operations, logistics, inventory control, kitting operations, and ensuring orders are accurate and on time. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in distribution center operations, knowledge of warehouse staffing models, and a focus on streamlining packaging costs and increasing productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Warehouse & Distribution Management: oversee receipt, storage, and shipment of crafting supplies; maintain an organized warehouse with optimized space; implement best practices for safety, quality control, and productivity; develop and optimize warehouse staffing models for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Kitting & Custom Fabric Cutting: manage assembly of products into kits with accuracy and efficiency; oversee cut-on-demand fabric process to meet customer specifications; ensure quality control for all kitting and cutting operations
  • Inventory & Order Fulfillment: maintain accurate inventory tracking and stock levels; implement inventory management processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency; ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
  • Operational Efficiency & Cost Optimization: streamline packing materials and reduce per-package shipping costs; increase pick and pack productivity by optimizing workflows and technology; monitor and improve order accuracy and processing times
  • Technology & Systems: utilize warehouse management systems (WMS); familiarity with Net Suite and Numina is a plus; leverage automation and data analytics to enhance decision-making
  • Team Leadership & Development: lead, train, and mentor warehouse and kitting teams; foster a positive work environment; develop performance metrics and drive continuous improvement
  • Customer Experience & Service Excellence: ensure orders are packed with care and delivered on time; collaborate with customer service to resolve issues promptly; implement processes to enhance customer satisfaction
Additional Responsibilities (Under HR Direction)
  • New Hires: coordinate onboarding and orientation; conduct drug testing; collect identification; review Employee Handbook
  • Employee Relations & Engagement: address concerns, mediate disputes, promote open communication, conduct exit interviews
  • HR Compliance & Policies: ensure policy compliance; maintain employee documentation; assist in drafting/updating policies; conduct audits of attendance and timekeeping
  • Workplace Investigations: conduct internal investigations; document findings; assist in fair resolutions
  • Performance Management & Training: oversee performance reviews; identify training needs; conduct mandatory workshops
  • Compensation & Benefits Administration: manage leaves, insurance, retirement enrollments; administer incentive programs; include safety program and annual productivity increases
  • Office/Procurement: manage inventory of office and facilities supplies; coordinate facility PMs; waste removal, landscaping, snow removal

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in distribution center, warehouse, or logistics management
  • Experience in kitting, assembly operations, or custom order fulfillment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse best practices
  • Familiarity with Net Suite and Numina is a plus
  • Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team
  • Experience in optimizing warehouse staffing models and improving fulfillment efficiency
  • Strong understanding of shipping carriers (UPS, Fed Ex, USPS) and small package logistics
  • Proficiency in WMS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
