Overview
Maintenance Technician
Pay Rate: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
Shift &
Schedule:
6am - 2pm, Monday - Friday
Location: Campus Parc at The Ohio State University (OSU)
Responsibilities- Perform all maintenance and cleaning tasks noted on the checklists and as directed by the facility manager/supervisor to ensure that all dirt, dust, litter and debris are removed from all areas of the facility.
- Make basic electrical repairs including replacing photo electric controls, lighting ballast, bulbs and fixtures, electric switches, and receptacles. Check and replace fuses and circuit breakers. Perform minor electrical wiring installation and repair. Diagnoses and replaces emergency exit and emergency lighting fixtures and take volt and amp readings.
- Perform routine repairs and maintain the building plumbing system.
- Responsible for safety and security of company equipment.
- Apply oil absorbent to oil spills.
- Walk garages and drive lots daily to note and correct any maintenance problems.
- Pick-up and delivery of winter supplies, sand, salt, fuel, power equipment, vehicles, etc.
- Maintain an inventory of maintenance equipment and submit requests to re-stock supplies as needed.
- Operate automatic sweepers, scrubbers, outdoor equipment (such as weed eater), lawnmowers, or other electrical tools to repair or construct items, as applicable.
- Plow, or blow snow from the entrance or exit ramps and in areas designated by the Maintenance Manager, as applicable.
- Repair and replace doors, openers, gates and thresholds and perform other related tasks.
- Perform general masonry work and other unskilled minor building maintenance repairs.
- Maintain cleanliness of mechanical rooms and equipment.
- Make purchases for parts and supplies with managers approval. Enter, fulfill and submit completed work orders in an accurate and timely manner. Provide general support in other areas and assist with set-ups during special events.
- Attend all required department meetings and training.
- Work assigned schedule, exhibit regular and predictable attendance, and work overtime as required to meet workload demands.
- Report any known accidents or violations of company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the local manager in a timely manner.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
- May be asked by local management to complete small cleaning or maintenance tasks according to the company’s maintenance checklists.
- Other special projects as assigned by location management.
- You are at least 20 years old.
- Must have a valid DMV driver’s license, for at least 3 years.
- Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment.
- High school degree or GED equivalent preferred.
- One (1) to Three (3) years’ experience in general maintenance or closely related field preferred.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively both verbally and through written correspondence.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment, interacting with other employees in a professional and friendly manner.
- Ability to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when working with the parking customer, providing resolution as needed to customer issues.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
