Job Description SummaryMaintains the complete interior and exterior restoration, refinishing and decoration of wall surfaces, graphics, furniture, cabinets and miscellaneous items.
Essential Functions- Prepares interior and exterior surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, and filling holes and cracks; repairs and replaces drywall, plaster, and other wall systems; prepares surrounding areas appropriately to protect from overspray or paint splatter.
- Mixes coatings to proper color, tint, texture and consistency, maintaining building paint standards; applies paint or other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
- Applies and repairs wallpaper, vinyl wall covering, wall protection systems and wall graphics.
- Cleans and maintains painting tools and equipment; orders and maintains ready stock of paint material.
- Prepares estimates for projects including materials and labor; contacts vendors and works in conjunction with outside contractors.
- Follows safety procedures and wears protective gear such as respirators and safety glasses when working with hazardous materials.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

ExperienceThree years of painting experience, required.

Chemicals/Medications, Computer skills, Driving motor vehicles (work required); additional testing may be required. Lifting/carrying: 0-10 lbs, 11-20 lbs, 21-40 lbs, 41-60 lbs, 61-100 lbs. Loud noises, machinery, patient equipment, power tools, pushing/pulling: 0-25 lbs, 26-40 lbs, 41-60 lbs, 61-100 lbs, sitting. Frequently:
Audible speech, bend/twist, climb stairs/ladder, cold temperatures, decision making, flexing/extending of neck, hearing acuity, hot temperatures, interpreting data, problem solving, reaching above shoulder, squat/kneel, walking, working at heights, working outdoors. Continuously:
Color vision, depth perception, fume/gases/vapors, hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, peripheral vision, repetitive hand/arm use, seeing – far/near, standing. Additional physical requirements performed but not listed above:
Ability to perform physical activities of lifting, climbing, stooping, reaching and standing. May need to push 200 pounds occasionally.
