- The Senior Associate General Counsel - Business/Finance/Transactional Attorney provides legal advice and services to University leadership and University affiliates in areas of sophisticated business practice, including governance, business & finance, capital formation, mergers & acquisitions, securities law (including venture capital and private equity financings), and legal review of and recommendations regarding existing and proposed general business operations, and assistance with general business issues.
- Drafts and reviews contracts and other legal instruments.
- Conducts and supervises legal research.
- Initiates and implements special projects.
- Participates in training seminars and workshops for the University community.
- Works under the general supervision and direction of the Deputy General Counsel and Senior Associate Vice President.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.), graduate from an accredited law school and be a member of the Ohio bar or eligible to practice law in the State of Ohio within one year or less.
- Must have approval of the Ohio Attorney General's Office prior to hire.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a law firm or corporation with a focus on sophisticated business and commercial transactions.
