OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Personal Injury Legal Assistant to support our growing litigation team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced legal environment, enjoys working directly with clients, and takes pride in keeping cases moving efficiently from intake through resolution.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a primary point of contact for personal injury clients
- Conduct client intake interviews and maintain regular case updates
- Request, track, and organize medical records, bills, and wage documentation
- Communicate with insurance adjusters, medical providers, and opposing counsel
- Draft and file pleadings, discovery, motions, and correspondence
- Prepare case summaries, demand packages, and settlement documents
- Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and court schedules
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit and witness coordination
- Manage electronic and physical case files
- Schedule depositions, mediations, and client meetings
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and court filings
- Ensure compliance with court rules and internal procedures
- 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal (personal injury preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Ohio court procedures and filing requirements
- Experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, Needles, Smart Advocate, Filevine, etc.)
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage a high‑volume caseload
$50,000—$60,000 USD
CompensationThe base salary or hourly range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior relevant experience, business needs, and market factors. Additionally, salary wages are only part of the total compensation package.
