We are seeking an experienced, highly organized and compassionate Paralegal to support our attorneys in all aspects of family law matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of family court procedures, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive client matters with discretion and empathy.
Key Responsibilities- Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, declarations, discovery requests/responses, and settlement agreements
- File documents with the court (both e-filing and in-person, if necessary)
- Organize and maintain case files, including financial disclosures, court orders, and correspondence
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and schedule meetings
- Manage attorney calendars, court dates, and deadlines
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparation of trial binders and exhibits
- Conduct basic legal research related to family law statutes and case law
- Prepare regular case management reporting to review with attorneys
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Bachelor’s Degree, Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program, or relevant degree and experience considered.
- 3+ years of experience working as a paralegal/legal assistant, Litigation/family law experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of court procedures, forms, and filings ( e-filing or in person)
- Experience in client billing and payments (preferred)
- Excellent time-management, and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professionalism and empathy when working with clients
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate as a part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability to changes in day to day schedules and operations
- Proficiency with legal case management software and applications (e.g. Amicus, Worldox, PCLaw)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis Nexis)
- Competitive salary and benefits package - Salary: $60,000 - 70,000 (DOE)
