About the Office

Qualifications
  • 24 mos. paid work exp. as paralegal/legal assistant.
  • Or successful completion of certificated program for paralegal or legal assistant.
  • Or successful completion of 12 mos. of education from an accredited law school.
  • Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Paralegal/Legal Assistant 1 – Workers' Compensation

The Ohio Attorney General's Office is currently seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual for Paralegal/Legal Assistant 1 for our Workers' Compensation section in our Columbus and Cleveland headquarter locations. This position provides paralegal support and assists attorneys needed with cases. This position will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule and will be headquartered in our Columbus office. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs.

The duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Researches federal and/or state statutes, recorded judicial decisions and other legal sources and reference materials in order to prepare responses to inquiries, complaints, claims and legal and/or administrative procedural issues to assist section attorneys.
