ERP System Administrator – Epicor Prophet ; P21

Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000 Base Salary + Benefits

We are partnering with a growing automotive distribution organization seeking an ERP System Administrator with experience supporting Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) or a similar ERP platform.

This role will be responsible for the administration, configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of the ERP environment in a high-volume distribution setting. The ERP System Administrator will serve as a key liaison between business operations, IT, and external vendors to ensure the system effectively supports inventory management, order fulfillment, supply chain operations, and financial reporting.

This is a hybrid position based in Columbus, Ohio, requiring a minimum of three (3) days onsite per week.

• Manage day-to-day administration of the Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) platform including user accounts, roles, permissions, and security

• Configure and support key ERP modules including Inventory, Purchasing, Sales Orders, Pricing, Warehouse Management, and Financials

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to integrations, data flow, and user access

• Coordinate with Epicor support and third-party vendors for upgrades, patches, and system enhancements

• Maintain development, testing, and production environments

• Optimize ERP workflows supporting a high-volume automotive distribution environment

• Support operational processes including:

• High-volume SKU management and part supersession
• Core charge and return processing
• Vendor lead times and backorder management
• Pricing matrices, rebates, and manufacturer programs
• Multi-warehouse inventory management
• Ensure ERP workflows support fast order turnaround, accurate inventory availability, and efficient logistics operations

• Partner with Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, Finance, Customer Service, and eCommerce teams to understand operational workflows

• Identify process gaps and operational inefficiencies and implement system improvements

• Translate business requirements into ERP configurations or technical solutions

• Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures

• Develop and maintain dashboards, operational reports, and key performance metrics

• Utilize SQL, SSRS, Power BI, and P21 reporting tools to generate business insights

• Maintain data accuracy and integrity across ERP datasets including:

• Parts and product data
• Customer and vendor records
• Pricing and rebate programs
• Transactional ERP data
• Support data imports, exports, and migration activities

• Lead or support ERP enhancement projects, integrations, and module implementations

• Coordinate testing, training, go-live activities, and change management efforts

• Support integrations with systems such as:

• Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• eCommerce platforms
• CRM platforms
• EDI systems
• Shipping and logistics systems

• Serve as the primary point of contact for Prophet 21 system support

• Troubleshoot issues for both remote and onsite users

• Develop and deliver ERP training sessions and onboarding materials

• Create and maintain user documentation and knowledge base resources

• Work closely with business leaders and operations teams to align ERP capabilities with business objectives

• Partner with IT teams on infrastructure, security, and integrations

• Facilitate communication between technical teams, business users, and external vendors

• 5+ years of ERP administration, configuration, or ERP business analysis experience

• Hands‑on experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) or a similar ERP system

• Experience supporting automotive distribution, aftermarket parts, or high‑volume distribution environments

• Strong knowledge of:

• Inventory management
• Purchasing and supply chain operations
• Order fulfillment workflows
• Warehouse operations
• Pricing structures and rebate programs
• Hands‑on experience with SQL and ERP reporting tools
• Proven ability to gather business requirements and improve operational processes
• Strong communication, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills

• Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 Business Rules, APIs, or EDI integrations

• Experience with EDI transaction processing
