Job Overview
We are seeking a QA Level II (Senior Mainframe Manual QA) to join our Mainframe Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience testing transactional mainframe systems using technologies such as COBOL, CICS, and DB2, along with the ability to quickly understand complex enterprise environments.
In this role, you will support major project initiatives by collaborating closely with engineering teams, product managers, and business stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-quality and scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze system requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Execute manual test cases and ensure coverage of functional requirements.
- Document and track test results, defects, and execution status in tools such as JIRA and QTest.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and testing strategies.
- Identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and support root cause analysis.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained across large-scale mainframe environments.
- Strong experience in Mainframe Manual Testing.
- Hands-on knowledge of COBOL, CICS, and DB2 based transactional systems.
- Solid understanding of Agile SDLC methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in complex enterprise mainframe environments.
- ISTQB, CSTP, or CAT certification.
- 5+ years of functional testing experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI) domain.
