The role is responsible for overseeing facilities and security-related systems, ensuring operational excellence and compliance.

• Facilities & Security Management

  • Maintain and manage systems related to facilities and security.

  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and compliance with security protocols.

  • Implement preventive maintenance and risk mitigation strategies.

• Data Analytics & Business Intelligence

  • Utilize business intelligence tools and techniques to identify trends and opportunities - Power BI and Power Automate.

  • Provide actionable insights to leader and stakeholders.

• Operational Accountability

  • Manage the operational aspects of supported products in alignment with business requirements and defined SLAs.

  • Provide off-hours support as needed to ensure service continuity.

  • Engage with vendors and customers to mitigate and resolve service outages promptly.

• Onboarding & Certification

  • Part of the onboarding process will be to complete the Genetec certification.

Work Schedule
:
This role will work a hybrid schedule coming into the Columbus, Ohio office 2 days per week on Wednesdays and Thursdays. There may be occasional weeknight and weekend support as needed that is shared throughout the team.

As a Technology Engineer, you deliver standard and custom supportable technology products. The solutions you build are based on Nationwide’s architectural standards, technology roadmaps, industry trends and business requirements. The expertise you provide will focus on collaboration, data, systems, storage, middleware, network, security and contact center technology products. You’re also accountable for the operational aspects and management for the above products in accordance with the business requirements and defined service level agreements (SLAs).

• Executes all aspects of capacity: drives requirements to meet current and future needs, tracks and reports capacity postures.

• Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

• Analyzes reports and delivery recommendations to remediate capacity issues.

• Implements capacity enhancements.

• Participates in technology/product optimization, migrations and management, including technology/product design, planning, power and environmental management.

• Continuously improves and enhances existing environments.

• Maintains proper hardware and software currency levels by working on recommended upgrades.

• Conducts proactive system maintenance, disaster recovery planning, data backup and recovery as well as inventory, configuration and utility product management.

• Executes on production engineering processes, incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, change management, release management and knowledge management.

• Supports operational efforts to maintain environments.

• Provides production support for all technology platforms.

• Assists with disaster and business recovery planning and testing.

• Provides oversight for technical labs and development environments.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
