Position Summary- Huntington is seeking a Dev Portal Engineer to join our API Gateway and Developer Experience team. This role supports the Dev Portal Lead in building and maintaining Huntington’s next-generation Developer Portal, which enables internal and external developers to discover, onboard, and consume APIs securely and efficiently. You’ll work hands‑on with Apigee X, modern web technologies, and cloud‑native services to deliver a seamless developer experience.
- Portal Development & Integration
- Assist in building and customizing the Developer Portal using React and Java/Spring Boot.
- Integrate portal features with Apigee X for API discovery, testing, and lifecycle management.
- Support API documentation workflows using tools like Read Me and Swagger UI.
- Security & Authentication
- Implement secure authentication and authorization patterns (OAuth2, JWT) in collaboration with Ping Identity.
- Ensure compliance with Huntington’s security standards and governance policies.
- Cloud & Infrastructure
- Work with GCP services such as Cloud Run, IAM, and Cloud Armor to ensure portal reliability and security.
- Support CI/CD automation using Cloud Build and Terraform.
- Developer Experience
- Collaborate with UX and product teams to deliver intuitive onboarding workflows.
- Provide technical support for API consumers and internal teams using the portal.
- Continuous Improvement
- Monitor portal performance and user feedback; assist in implementing enhancements.
- Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and documentation updates.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of software development experience (preferably web-based).
- Familiarity with React, Java/Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
- Basic understanding of API management platforms (Apigee X preferred).
- Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, and identity integration concepts.
- Exposure to GCP services (Cloud Run, IAM, Cloud Armor).
- Experience with API documentation tools (Swagger, Read Me).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Contribute to building a developer experience platform that powers Huntington’s API‑first strategy.
- Gain hands‑on experience with Apigee X, cloud‑native technologies, and enterprise‑scale API ecosystems.
- Work in a collaborative environment with opportunities for mentorship and growth.
