The VP, Strategic Pursuit Team, is accountable for the execution and outcome of EDB's most significant and strategic deals. This high‑accountability role requires a proven track record of orchestrating cross‑boundary internal resources and external partnerships to win pivotal, multi‑million‑dollar engagements.
- Own pursuit and deal closure: drive, manage, and secure large enterprise deals within global accounts.
- Architect global strategies: design and execute pursuit strategies, develop business cases and align EDB solutions.
- Executive relationship management: foster deep trust with C‑suite stakeholders.
- Cross‑functional orchestration: lead Product, Alliances, Marketing and Customer Success to deliver unified account strategies.
- Ecosystem leverage: engage SI, GSI and technology partners to accelerate customer transformation.
- Strategic planning and visibility: create and execute outcome‑focused business plans for the most strategic accounts.
- Accountability and governance: own pursuit progression and provide executive‑level visibility.
- External advocacy: represent EDB at senior executive forums.
- Customer advocacy: champion customer voice in product innovation.
- Experience:
Minimum 15+ years of enterprise technology sales or global account leadership. - Deal acumen: expert in complex negotiations and business case development.
- Industry focus: experience in highly regulated industries such as Financial Services, Retail, Healthcare, Telecom, Public Sector.
- Technology domain: strong understanding of enterprise software, data infrastructure, cloud and open‑source technologies.
- Leadership style: proven ability to lead without direct authority in a matrixed global environment.
- Executive presence: exceptional ability to influence C‑level stakeholders internally and externally.
- Platform alignment: deep understanding of the shift from databases to unified data and AI platforms.
This role requires a strategic thinker who views a multi‑million‑dollar pursuit as a chess match requiring coordination across product, alliances, engineering and customer success.
