AboutThe Role
As a Physical Security Systems Specialist, you’ll be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and improving enterprise‑grade access control and video surveillance systems across multiple environments. You’ll serve as a bridge between technology and security operations, ensuring that every system you touch operates with reliability, efficiency, and precision.
Key Responsibilities- System Deployment & Modernization:
Install, configure, and upgrade critical security components such as cameras, access control panels, and networked security hardware. Lead end‑of‑life equipment replacement projects with minimal downtime. - Technical Support & Incident Resolution:
Respond swiftly to service requests, identify root causes of system issues, and ensure smooth restoration of functionality. Maintain high system uptime through proactive monitoring and maintenance. - Documentation & Compliance:
Develop and update configuration records, wiring diagrams, and procedural documentation. Maintain alignment with industry standards and internal policies. - Innovation & Evaluation:
Participate in testing and proof‑of‑concept initiatives for emerging security technologies. Help assess new tools and recommend solutions that enhance scalability and performance. - Auditing & Asset Management:
Conduct routine audits of all physical security devices. Ensure equipment is accurately labeled, cataloged, and traceable within asset tracking systems. - Performance Tracking:
Contribute to the generation of reports detailing system performance, project progress, and service activity metrics. Use data insights to drive improvements. - Team
Collaboration:
Partner with engineering, IT, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of security systems with broader infrastructure and workflows. - Security Operations Optimization:
Fine‑tune alarm configurations to minimize false positives, enhance response times, and improve operator situational awareness. - Vendor & Partner Coordination:
Work directly with manufacturers and service providers to troubleshoot issues, manage warranty claims, and coordinate training sessions. - Knowledge Sharing:
Develop quick reference materials, training documents, and best practice guides to empower internal teams and foster consistent operational excellence.
- Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Electronics, or a related technical discipline—or equivalent professional experience. - Experience:
4+ years of hands‑on experience managing and supporting physical security systems, including access control and video surveillance solutions. - Technical Skills:
Proficiency with enterprise‑grade systems such as Victor VMS and CCure 9000, as well as a strong understanding of networking and cybersecurity fundamentals.
