Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Administer payroll policies, processes, and procedures across multiple operating companies.
- Ensure the accuracy of the calculation of wages, tax withholding, and deductions associated with payroll.
- Monitor and preserve Payroll HRIS applications and modules by maintaining internal databases, keeping employee records in digital format and educating users on how to use HR systems.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to Payroll HRIS users.
- Drive payroll system efficiencies and streamline processes, moving toward standardization.
- Administer company benefit plans and open enrollment and troubleshoot employee questions.
- Monitor functionality of the payroll system to ensure all interfaces with general ledgers, accounting systems, benefit carriers, and other HR systems are working and accurate.
- Prepare statistical reports on employee pay, commissions and bonuses, time off, disability, taxes, with holdings, etc. as needed.
- Process commissions, bonuses, and other special pays; conduct payroll and benefit audits, monitor and ensure state and local taxes are correct; and prepare company and governmental reports.
- Ensure employee records for tax with holdings, direct deposits, benefit elections, time off requests, deductions, garnishments, beneficiaries, dependents, etc. are up-to-date.
- Provide input to maintain optimal functionality of Payroll HRIS application, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrades to applications, and systems.
- Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of processes throughout the operational organization.
- All other duties as assigned.
- B.S. Degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Professional payroll certification (CPP), preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of payroll system administration experience
- Minimum 2 years administering employee benefit programs.
- Knowledge of Ulti Pro payroll and Human Resources Information System, a plus
- High standard of professionalism and ethics
- Preferred style of teamwork, collaboration, and humility
- Formidable root cause analysis skills
- Ability to resolve issues quickly and calmly.
- Ability to prioritize quickly and coordinate across multiple projects to meet timely deadlines.
- Possess a high level of attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Exceptional conflict resolution skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and with written communications across multiple levels within the organization.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office products, advanced Excel.
- Travel estimated at 10% - 20%
