Overview
The Manager of Talent & Organization Development plays a pivotal role in driving the organization's talent strategy and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Partnering with the Director, this person is responsible for executing core talent management practices including performance management, development planning, talent planning, and employee listening. In addition, this role will identify and implement training and leadership development strategies for key non-manufacturing populations in the organization.
This role requires considerable project management skills, along with strategic thinking capabilities and a passion for growing talent within the organization. You will work cross-functionally with several partners including Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Internal Communications, HR Business Partners and leaders throughout the business to nourish the growth and belonging of employees across The Marzetti Company.
Essential Functions/
Primary Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnership & Project Leadership –Serves as a trusted, integratedpartner to Supply Chain and Corporate HR leaders, balancing strategic perspective with hands-on execution. Leads complex, cross-functional talentinitiatives fromdefinedconceptthrough implementation, managingstakeholders,timelines and deliverables to ensure measurable, consistentoutcomes.
- Leadership Development & Learning –Acts as a strategic partner to Supply Chain and Corporate functions to assess leadership and capability needs, translating business priorities into targeted development solutions. Leads the design, implementation, and facilitation ofassignedleadership development and training programs for non-manufacturing populations, leveraging internal expertise, external vendors, and scalable learning modalities.
Evaluates program effectiveness through participation data, learner feedback, and application of skills, using insights to continuously improve learning experiences and outcomes
- Talent Management & Organizational Capability -Partners with HR Business Partners and business leaders to execute talent management processes, including goal setting, performance management, development planning, and talent review.
Ensures the effective integration of the organizational competency model (Growth Behaviors) into talent tools, leader resources, and everyday people practices. Supports leaders through guidance, tools, and consultation to enable high-quality talent discussions and decisions.
Identifies gaps in adoption or effectiveness and works with theSrDirector to recommend enhancements, pilots, or refinements to enterprise processes.
Brings a continuous improvement mindset, proactively identifying opportunities to simplify, align, and strengthen talent practices based on business needs and employee experience.
- Employee Listening & Insights –Supports the design and execution of the organization’s employee listening strategy, including surveys, pulse checks, and feedback mechanisms.
Providessupport & partnership for HRBPs and leadersto interpret results, identify themes, and translate insights into actionable priorities that improve engagement and employee experience.
Tracks progress on actionplanningand supports
HRBPs and leaders with tools, data, and best practices to strengthen accountability and follow-through.
- Diversity & Inclusion – Serves as a strategic partner and liaison to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), supporting the sharing of best practices, resources, and insights across the ERG community.
Collaborates with theSrDirector and HR partners to integrateinclusion into broader talent and leadership practices.
- 5+ years relevant experience in talent management, training, or organizational development preferred, or applicable combination of experience and education
- Strong understanding of competency models, talent assessment, instructional designand other talent development methodologies
- Proven track record of designing and implementing people/HR programs
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives/stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven recommendations
- Comfortable facilitating for employees/teams at all levels in the organization
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in managing employee engagement surveys and other listening tools preferred
- Experience coaching or leading others preferred
