What

The Role Is

Senior People Operations Generalist on-site at the Columbus Fulfillment Center in Commercial Point, OH, supporting a seven-day, multi-shift operation and 350+ hourly team members. You’ll work Monday–Friday on-site, with an early shift (4:00am–12:30pm) or late shift (2:00pm–10:30pm). Flexibility may be required for time-sensitive issues, open enrollment, new hire orientations, or leadership meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Frontline HR execution, floor presence, and leadership coaching
  • Handle sensitive team member concerns, investigations, leaves and accommodations, onboarding and offboarding
  • Own payroll operations for the site and maintain compliance through regular audits and documentation
  • Educate and coach operational supervisors and assistant managers on leadership skills and the full lifecycle of team members
  • Partner with supervisors during shift changes and support all three shifts
  • Proactively address issues, empowering others and shaping long-term HR practices
  • Act as a visible, approachable presence on the Fulfillment Center floor and a trusted partner to operational leadership
  • Report to the onsite People Ops Manager and collaborate with the onsite People Ops Coordinator
Qualifications
  • 5–8 years of People Operations experience, including 3+ years supporting hourly teams in fulfillment, logistics, or manufacturing
  • Extensive employee relations experience (investigations, coaching, performance management, terminations)
  • Experience managing leaves and accommodations (disability claims, FMLA, ADA)
  • Working knowledge of employment law and ability to explain regulations to staff and leaders
  • 3+ years with HRIS platforms (Paylocity a bonus); comfortable auditing data, timecards, and payroll operations
  • Available to work Monday–Friday onsite with either an early or late shift to support a 7-day operation
  • Strong judgment and discretion; ability to act independently or escalate when needed
  • Calm under pressure; effective communicator across all levels
  • Proactive, preventative mindset with system-wide thinking
  • Autonomous but collaborative; strong on-floor presence
  • Comfortable working in an AI-forward environment and leveraging AI tools in HR workflows
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification required
Nice To Have
  • Experience with  or similar project management tools
  • Familiarity with AI tools in HR workflows (e.g., ChatGPT)
  • Proficient in Google Workspace
  • Comfortable working in a Mac Book environment
How You Will Make An Impact
  • Be the go-to People Ops member on the Columbus FC floor
  • Own all payroll operations onsite and coordinate with HQ for timely pay
  • Lead employee relations investigations and coach supervisors through actions and policy enforcement
  • Coach operational supervisors daily on policy interpretation, performance, attendance, and morale
  • Empower leadership to own the full team member lifecycle
  • Facilitate micro-trainings and just-in-time learning for site leaders
  • Manage leaves, ADA accommodations, and workers’ compensation cases
  • Conduct onboarding, temp-to-perm transitions, and ensure a consistent experience across shifts
  • Track patterns and trends to surface insights and prevent repeat problems
  • Translate policies and benefits information into clear explanations
  • Collaborate with the on-site People Ops Coordinator and the Columbus People Ops Manager
  • Serve as on-call People Ops contact for after-hours escalations
