Role Description

This is a full‑time, hybrid role based in one of our U.S. metro locations, with flexibility to work remotely on designated days. The Human Resources Director will lead the development and execution of HR strategy, policies, and programs while supporting the company’s growth in a fast‑paced startup environment.

The role includes oversight of employee relations, performance management, and compliance with U.S. labor and employment laws. The HR Director will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing guidance on people initiatives and helping foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with organizational values and business goals.

As a subsidiary of a China‑based organization, the ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a global business environment. This includes occasional participation in meetings across international time zones, familiarity with collaboration tools such as Lark, and experience navigating international approval processes. Strong attention to detail, cultural fluency, and the ability to clearly explain U.S. employment practices and cultural norms to global stakeholders are essential.

The company utilizes a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) for payroll, benefits administration, and compliance. Experience working within a PEO model is highly preferred.

Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of HR experience as a Generalist, Manager, Director or Business Partner with familiarity of various HR disciplines including Recruiting, New Hire Orientation, Training, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Leadership Development, Compensation, Policy Creation and Job Family Design
  • Deep knowledge of Human Resources functions and best practices, particularly in startup or growth‑stage environment
  • Fluency in Chinese/Mandarin and experience working with China‑based organizations strongly preferred
  • Proven experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Strong executive presence with experience advising and coaching senior leadership
  • Hands‑on, resourceful mindset with the ability to operate effectively within small budgets
  • Expertise in Employee Relations and Performance Management
  • Understanding of U.S. labor and employment laws
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑cultural collaboration skills
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or global operations environments is a plus

Compensation Disclosure

Base salary range for this role is location dependent
.

New York City: $135,000 – $160,000 annually

Compensation for candidates in other approved locations may vary based on geography, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This role may also be eligible for additional benefits and incentives consistent with company policy.
