The Sports Medicine Rehab Physical Therapist is licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of Ohio. This role works within a team-oriented sports medicine rehabilitation program. Services are offered at outpatient sites to patients with disorders and conditions primarily related to orthopedic and sports injuries. The sports medicine team members report to the Rehabilitation Manager as part of the OSU Sports Medicine program structure.
The Sports Medicine Physical Therapist works under the general supervision of the Director of Sports and Ambulatory Rehab and under the direct supervision of the Rehabilitation Manager. The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients in accordance with Ohio state laws and rules governing the practice of physical therapy. Although team members report to the Rehab Manager, they are also responsible to each other, to supervises (Physical Therapist Assistants and Athletic Trainers), and to other participants involved in patient care activities.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with orthopedic and sports-related injuries within an outpatient sports medicine rehabilitation program.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team as part of the recovery process and adhere to relevant laws and professional standards.
- Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree - Current licensure in the State of Ohio to practice Physical Therapy (Ohio Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Board).
- Preferred: dual credentials in Athletic Training, Strength and Conditioning, or a Sports/Orthopedic specialty in Physical Therapy; and one year of experience in a Sports Medicine rehabilitation field.
