Position: Health Innovations Manager (Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 2)

Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 2 (PN: ). The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is recruiting for Health Innovations Manager to direct activities to advance its Quality Healthcare Strategy through the state-university partnership led by ODM and partnered with the Government Resource Center (GRC) at The Ohio State University. As the selected candidate you will perform the following job duties:

Responsibilities
  • Direct the development and implementation of the ODM’s health innovation initiatives (e.g., CARDI-OH, Quality Improvement Partnership with Academic Centers, Medicaid Outcomes Distributed Research Network) through the Medicaid Technical Assistance and Policy Program (MEDTAPP).
  • Oversee development of health policy research and evaluation for value-based improvement initiatives (e.g., Next Generation Managed Care Program Evaluation).
  • Analyze and interpret federal & state regulations, rules & laws to ensure program compliance.
  • Propose legislation with other agency representatives (e.g., Bureau of Managed Care, Health Plan Policy, Management Information Systems, Office of Legal Services).
  • Act as liaison with other agency representatives &/or outside agencies, providers, advocates, beneficiaries &/or consumers.
Qualifications
  • The preferred candidate will have knowledge of quality improvement science, population health concepts, and health research.
  • Completion of graduate core program in business, management or public administration, public health, health administration, social or behavioral science or public finance; 24 months exp. in planning & administering health services program or health services project management (e.g., health care data analysis, health services contract management, health care market & financial expertise; health services program communication; health services budget development, HMO & hospital rate development, health services eligibility, health services data analysis).
  • Or 24 months experience as a Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 1, 65295.

    education & experience is to be commensurate with approved position description on file.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
