Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU position in Ohio requiring a valid OH or compact license and strong progressive care experience.
Responsibilities- Work in a 22-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) serving adult and geriatric patients
- Patient population includes burns, plastic/reconstructive, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgical cases
- Special procedures performed include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
- Uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with every other or every third weekend required
- Float within the health system as needed
- Primary responsibilities include caring for complex surgical and medical PCU patients
- Support services include IV/pharmacy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, social work, transport, and rapid response teams
- Night shift assignment with rotating weekend coverage
- Fingerprints must be completed promptly as a compliance requirement following contract signature
- Locals are accepted at the same pay rate
- Time off requests must be submitted with initial availability and built into contract terms
- Former employees eligible after 6 months; current employees ineligible to be hired as travelers at this location
- Active RN license for Ohio or a compact state, in hand at the time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Minimum 2 years recent PCU experience with similar patient population
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor
- Previous charge RN and teaching hospital experience preferred
