Physical Therapist - IRP 2

ResponsibilitiesRehabilitation team members are licensed or certified professionals (physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, social workers or therapeutic recreation specialists) who work within a specific team structure to offer inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation services. These services are provided to the acute‑care hospital, the acute inpatient rehabilitation facility (Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital), or outpatient service sites for patients with disorders associated primarily with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, or other neurogenic disorders, orthopedic problems, burns, amputations, or chronic pain.
The team member reports to the rehabilitation team leaders as part of the overall Rehabilitation Services Division structure.
Team members assess patients and establish plans of care together, provide a wide variety of treatment techniques, give education and support to families, and facilitate continuing care planning. They evaluate quality of services and participate in outcomes management activities. Team members also coordinate with other participants in patient care activities, including attending and resident physicians, nurses, support staff, and case managers.
Qualifications- Licensed or certified in the physical therapy profession.
- Bachelor's degree in physical therapy from an accredited institution.
- Clearance through the National Database of Practitioners.
- Typically 1–2 years of experience working in a medical setting (preferred).
- Maintains professional licensure; demonstrates commitment to continuing education; meets mandatory education and health requirements; demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.
