General Information

Position title:

Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS)/Behavior Technician (BT).

Schedule:

Monday‑Friday 9:30 am‑6:30 pm.

Community‑Based Services.

Reports to:

Community Manager (and other managers as directed).

Positions supervised:
None.

FLSA status:
Non‑exempt.

Responsibilities
  • Complete agency QBHS training upon hire and ongoing supervision, training, and education development.
  • Demonstrate accurate implementation of skills as taught in training sessions and based on supervisor feedback.
  • Provide CPST mental health services, implementing individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide TBS mental health services, delivering supportive care coordination.
  • Document treatments fully, including progress, needs, dates, signatures, and credentials.
  • Maintain client program books and data sheets, entering mastery dates.
  • Monitor and report client progress toward ISP/ITP, IEP, and treatment plan objectives to supervisors.
  • Co‑treat and substitute as directed, working collaboratively with treatment teams.
  • Collect and analyze performance/outcome data accurately.
  • Run after children who have eloped from treatment area and assist as needed.
  • Participate in staff development, education, and training.
  • Attend video reviews and complete self‑evaluations as requested.
  • Seek, receive, and apply feedback appropriately and professionally.
  • Meet productivity requirements.
  • Model professional behavior and decorum, treating staff and clients with professionalism.
  • Prepare for sessions before start time to maximize each treatment moment.
  • Prepare and maintain “mix and vary” boxes and associated materials, adding newly‑mastered target materials promptly.
  • Conduct reinforcer assessments and deliver reinforcement following ABA principles.
  • Conduct social skills sessions for individuals as assigned by client’s case supervisor.
  • Implement behavior plans as directed by supervisors.
  • Identify and report to supervisors when interventions are needed for specific clients.
  • Substitute for other staff to work with clients not on regular schedules.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 21 years of age (if serving children/adolescents).
  • At least 21 years of age with 3 years or more of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in social work, psychology, nursing, or a related human services field (preferred).
  • Knowledge and application of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or prior experience with ABA or with special‑needs children (preferred).
  • Must complete agency QBHS training upon hire.
