Position: MR/ CT Technologist

Responsibilities

Perform cardiovascular MRI examinations and other diagnostic MR imaging procedures while providing coverage for cardiovascular CT examinations and other diagnostic CT imaging procedures in accordance with ALARA principles and department processes and protocols. Deliver patient care excellence, represent Siemens Healthineers and Clinical Education with professionalism, and promote positive customer engagement.

  • Perform MRI and CT diagnostic imaging procedures according to department procedures and protocols.
  • Examine patients of all ages to assist in diagnosis of patient illness.
  • Support new software technology and evaluate protocols to improve image quality.
  • Locate and record internal elements of the body, identifying anomalies indicative of disease or injury.
  • Provide excellent patient care during MR and/or CT procedures.
  • Monitor patients for potentially dangerous physical and emotional changes.
  • Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy.
  • Review tests with peers and physicians.
  • Inform physicians of preliminary findings according to department procedures.
  • Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers.
  • Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain patient charts, enter diagnosis and billing codes, log data into patient information systems, and update file systems for tests performed.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and workspace.
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and readjust equipment or write referrals for repair.
  • Instruct patients in pre‑test preparation, answering questions and explaining procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with Siemens, Hospital, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Complete regulatory and core process documents in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain equipment according to infection control procedures.
  • Maintain technical competency through continued education and participation in Siemens training programs.
  • Under guidance and approval of site radiologist/ cardiologist, administer contrast agents according to site‑specific protocols.
  • Maintain current permits and licenses to practice in all states in which services are performed.
  • Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members.
  • Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous, responsible, professional, and ethical manner.
  • Knowledge of sterile and surgical procedures.
  • Knowledge of MRI and CT equipment and safety in MRI and CT environment.
  • Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
Qualifications
  • Clinical radiographer background with a minimum of 2 years MRI and CT clinical experience required.
  • ARRT certified in both MRI and CT required.
  • Successful completion of AMA‑sponsored School of Radiologic Technology program.
  • BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic Life Support certified.
  • Siemens MR system experience required.
  • Cardiac clinical experience a plus but willing to train in MR and CT.
  • Experience in pediatric imaging a plus.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal needed.
  • Shift: Monday‑ Friday, 11:30am – 8:00pm EST.
