Clinical Research Assistant (HS)

- Provide assistance in support of clinical research studies conducted in the Department of Emergency Medicine at multiple sites.
- Participate in recruitment of study participants; collect and provide relevant data to assess eligibility of patients for participation in protocols.
- Assist with administration of informed consent process; assist with cognitive testing both clinically and for research visits.
- Assist the principal investigator (PI) and sub-investigator with continuity of care of study patients during and between clinic visits.
- Assist with collection, entering, maintenance and reporting of clinical research data; input protocol, medical history, demographic data and patient clinical data into appropriate data capturing system and electronic medical record system.
- Review data and progress notes with research specialists, clinical research coordinators, principal investigators and sponsor agencies as appropriate.
- Compose and respond to correspondence from principal investigators; prepare appropriate protocol files for data audits.
- Assist with development of data collection plan and forms for new research protocols; prepare summaries of research results for protocol evaluation, abstract and manuscripts.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by PI or Clinical Research Manager. Work efforts are scheduled including evenings and weekends.
- Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in biological sciences. - Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences, health sciences, or life sciences required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a clinical research capacity desired.
- Computer skills required, with knowledge of database software applications desired.
- Experience performing basic laboratory procedures to process biological specimens and collection of vital signs desired.
- Successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre‑employment physical, including a drug screen.
