UMCF is a comprehensive children’s mental health and child welfare agency dedicated to empowering and supporting children and families across Ohio. Through services like Mental Health, Treatment Foster Care, Adoption, and Post-Adoption programs, we foster stronger families and communities. Guided by our mission to provide care and treatment for hurting children and families, we utilize trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices. As a ministry of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, our services include counseling, psychiatry, community-based support, and parenting programs to make a meaningful impact.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Springfield, OH, for a Community Based Licensed Clinician. The clinician will provide mental health services, including individual and family counseling, assessments, and treatment planning for children and families in the community. Responsibilities include working closely with multi-disciplinary teams on treatment goals, managing case documentation, and maintaining compliance with clinical protocols. Emphasis will be placed on fostering positive relationships with community partners and ensuring the highest standards of care to improve client outcomes.

Qualifications
  • A valid independent licensure in social work or counseling (e.g., LISW, LPCC, or equivalent).
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, and case management.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care principles and implementing evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and community stakeholders.
  • Commitment to supporting children and families in crisis with integrity and compassion.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in child welfare or mental health services is preferred but not required.
