DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Columbus Dialysis Center in Columbus, OH.

What you can expectDirect Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment. Our PCTs care for up to 4-5 patients at a time.
Technician Duties
. In the morning, the opening PCT is coming in to get the water room ready and the bicarb for the patients. They are testing the water for chlorine, checking to make sure the tools are calibrated. There are a lot of duties in the morning. To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.Physical requirements
. Ability to lift a minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted; able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions. Ability to interact in person and by phone clearly and efficiently. Ability to use computer and peripherals as needed. Must read and understand the duties and expectations of this position.Continuous Improvement
. We are consistently looking for ways to improve processes for patients and teammates.Building long-term relationships with patients who are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week and educating them on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
Team
. Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of an RN.Schedule
. Shifts can begin as early as 4:00 am and vary based on patient needs. Your expected shift will be shared during the interview process.
Responsibilities are summarized in the sections above and include direct patient care, equipment setup, water quality checks, and patient monitoring during dialysis sessions.
You are very dependable with an excellent work ethic, always open to learning, meticulous with charting, personable with patients, have a 'can-do' attitude, take on challenges without hesitance, are comfortable with a very early start time and long hours on your feet, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be comfortable working around blood and needles
Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet. Wear comfortable shoes. Our work ends when it is safe for our patients.
Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed
Health care experience preferred including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
