Duties

Processes patient specimens using prescribed methodology and instrumentation; uses laboratory computer system to prepare reports, enter and retrieve test requests and results; performs and documents quality control and quality assurance procedures as prescribed; performs and documents preventive maintenance as scheduled; monitor instruments to assure accuracy and precision of results; recognizes, solves and documents problems with patient samples; assists with development, writing, and/or implementation of policies and procedures;

assists with on-going preparation to keep laboratory compliant with all hospital and laboratory regulatory agencies; communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals concerning test results; collects blood samples; demonstrates annual competency by passing competency exams where required; obtain American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Medical Laboratory Technician Certification or Medical Laboratory Scientist Certification within one year of hire.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or biological science (foreign equivalents acceptable); eligible for American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Medical Laboratory Technician Certification or Medical Laboratory Scientist Certification; requires successful completion of background check. Recruiting for multiple positions.
