NeuroICU RN Job Details
- Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Ohio nursing jobs
- Healthcare Setting: Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NCCU)
- Employment Type: Travel RN Contract
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shifts: Day/Night rotation, every other weekend
- Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- On-Call: Required
- Patient Ratio: 1:1–2
- Floating: Required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU RN experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state license
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA required)
- Experience with Epic EHR
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Deliver advanced nursing care to patients with ischemic/hemorrhagic strokes, neuromuscular diseases, seizures, and post-neurosurgical conditions
- Perform and monitor neurocritical procedures: EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, ventilator management
- Start and maintain IVs, manage central/PICC lines, arterial lines, and administer blood products
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, ABGs, and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Administer emergency and procedural sedation medications
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, rapid response)
- Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions
