The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center invites applications for a Post Doctoral Scholar in Physiology & Cell Biology. The position offers specialized research training, education, and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor.

• Plan, design, and execute experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the study of stress‑induced molecular and electrophysiological remodeling in cardiac arrhythmia, heart failure, and ischemic stroke‑caused brain injury.
• Collect and analyze data for NIH‑sponsored research and other grant agencies.
• Identify and select research problems to be studied.
• Develop and troubleshoot new experimental techniques and protocols.
• Perform protein‑protein interaction and kinase activity assays, as well as molecular biology techniques.
• Use cutting‑edge electrophysiological methods, including optical mapping, confocal/multi‑photon high‑resolution imaging, and patch clamping.
• Attend research seminars and contribute to manuscript preparation, supporting technical writing.
• Participate in the preparation of grant applications for extramural funding.

• Doctoral degree in biological or health sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in molecular biology techniques, cell signaling pathways, and prior training in biochemistry, cellular, and molecular biology.
• Scientific publication record desired.
• Strong preference for candidates trained in electrophysiology or molecular biology.
