Position Overview

The Department of Radiology at The Ohio State University (OSU) is seeking experienced candidates for tenure‑track faculty positions in translational biomedical imaging research at the rank of associate or full professor. Rank and startup package are commensurate with academic record and experience. The OSU College of Medicine and the Department of Radiology have made significant commitments towards expanding medical imaging research and are seeking outstanding candidates in the field of neuroimaging who are dedicated to advancing translational research and innovation, committed to education, and inspire inclusive excellence.

He/she/they will contribute to the Department’s ambition while upholding the organization’s mission and values. We are specifically seeking candidates with interest in translational research in MRI and/or molecular imaging applications in neuroscience.

Department/Division Overview

The Department of Radiology is rapidly growing, with expanded services at off‑site imaging centers, and renovations to our existing clinical spaces and new spaces through the medical center strategic expansion project ($3+ Billion):

  • Main campus:
    New construction of a state‑of‑the‑art 830‑bed hospital tower, a biomedical research tower, and a Health Sciences building that will house the College of Medicine.
  • Around the city:
    Construction of 2 newly designed ambulatory care centers in New Albany and Dublin now completed and open in addition to 16 established ambulatory care centers up and running today.
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and James Comprehensive Cancer Center are nationally recognized for clinical, educational, and research excellence. The Department of Radiology has over 70 faculty members and a large array of imaging facilities on the main OSU campus and at multiple satellite clinics across central Ohio.

The Wright Center of Innovation in Biomedical Imaging houses imaging research faculty and an array of imaging equipment, including Siemens 0.55T Free.

Max, 3T Vida, and Philips 3T MRI systems, plus a Philips Vereos PET/CT scanner. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead an independent research program and participate in institutional efforts to translate novel imaging technologies and methodologies into clinical practice.
  • Secure grant funding from federal, state, and private sources.
  • Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and other trainees.
  • Collaborate with investigators across the College of Medicine and the university to advance translational research.
Requirements
  • Established history of research accomplishment and grant funding, as well as active grants.
  • Hold a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline, with scientific collaboration and research interests in translational research in MRI and/or molecular imaging applications in neuroscience.
