Description:

The position involves functioning within a comprehensive cancer center.
The facility includes 318 acute care beds across various specialized inpatient units.
Units are specialized by cancer diagnosis.
The role requires floating to inpatient medical-surgical and PCU oncology units.
A heavy focus will be placed on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.
Staffing ratios in the PCU are typically 1:3, but can be 1:4 with mixed acuity.
In medical-surgical telemetry units, ratios are ideally 1:4 but can be 1:5.
Schedules are self-managed, with requests entered for preferred scheduling.
There is no set or blocked scheduling available.
Candidates must be prepared for variable weekend coverage based on unit needs.
Required skills include accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and central line management.
Additional experience in chemotherapy administration and dysrhythmia interpretation is essential.
Proficiency in monitoring telemetry and managing cardiac drips is necessary.
Interdisciplinary support includes teams from physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
The role primarily involves caring for adult and geriatric patient populations.
A minimum of two professional references is required, with one from a formal leadership role.
Individuals must complete all credentialing requirements promptly.
