Central Fill Pharmacist –
Kroger
Location:
Columbus, OH
Direct technicians in the areas of workflow, scheduling, accuracy, and the dispensing operation. Ensure the highest quality and accuracy in delivering patient prescriptions throughout the customer experience and interaction with the pharmacy. Responsibilities- Perform and oversee the dispensing process and associated record‑keeping activities.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving customer/store complaints, including appropriate documentation.
- Assist in managing inventory and drug file maintenance.
- Communicate with the Central Fill general manager, Central Fill pharmacy manager, and system administrator regarding operational issues, suggestions, and repairs.
- Participate in periodic review and update of policies and procedures.
- Participate in the orientation and training of new pharmacists and associates.
- Provide leadership and direction to supervisors, leads, and customer service representatives.
- Ensure patient information is handled in a HIPAA‑compliant manner.
- Comply with state and federal drug laws as regulated.
- Establish and maintain all record‑keeping practices necessary for legal compliance, company policies, accounting policies, and required reports.
- Maintain all equipment (e.g., computers, printers, accuracy scanners, and cash registers) to ensure it remains in working condition.
- Maintain and organize all policy manuals, reference books, state laws, and required equipment, and verify that all staff are knowledgeable of their use.
- Make a strong and continuous effort to broaden personal knowledge and pharmacy skills.
- May be required to obtain pharmacist licensure in additional states based on business need and regulatory requirements.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or recognition as a Foreign Pharmacist Equivalent Graduate from the Board of Pharmacy.
- Any Specialty Pharmacy experience.
- Current clinical license for all states within the geographical sector.
- Current state pharmacist licensure in good standing.
- Ability to prioritize/multi‑task while providing accurate/on‑time results.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
- Effective oral/written communication skills.
- 1 year of retail experience.
- Any Central Fill or Mail Order Pharmacy experience.
- Any leadership experience.
