Job Description Summary
Schedules and performs diagnostic imaging procedures on pediatric patients using various ultrasound and related equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares patients and procedures in accordance with regulatory guidelines and policies.
- Utilizes training and knowledge to modify orders, prepares documentation for procedures, manipulates imaging data prescribed, reviews images for accuracy, and initiates networking of equipment.
- Operates, maintains, and programs varied imaging equipment.
- Assists in collecting and monitoring QA projects within the section.
- Performs procedures for research and testing.
- Maintains knowledge of current applications in the field through seminars, educational programs, and self-study.
Education Requirement
Graduate of an accredited school for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or ARRT sonography certified, required.
Licensure Requirement
- Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in ABD, or OB, or ARRT (S), required.
- Registered in Vascular (RVT or ARRT (VS) within 18-24 months of hire date, required.
Certifications
BLS certification, required.
Skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Experience
Experience in a pediatric ultrasound setting preferred.
