Post Doctoral Scholar – Biomedical Informatics
The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center (OSUMC) is inviting applications for a Post Doctoral Scholar in Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI) to conduct research in an interdisciplinary team with healthcare professionals, computer science/AI experts, and health communication/implementation science experts.
The scholar will design and evaluate AI‑based systems for clinical decision‑making and/or disease management, conduct surveys and interviews with clinicians and patients, write grant proposals, and publish high‑quality papers in top computer science and biomedicine journals/conferences.
Work will be closely supervised by Dr. Weidan Cao in the College of Medicine and the College of Public Health.

- Full‑time appointment for 12 months (possibility of renewal and promotion dependent on performance)

Required Qualifications
- PhD in computer science, information science, or health/biomedical informatics (or related field)
- Familiar with qualitative and quantitative research methods in HCI
- Experience in human‑centered design and usability testing
- Experience publishing multiple first‑author articles in peer‑reviewed HCI conferences (e.g., CHI, CSCW, UIST, IMWUT, or similar)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment; ability to coordinate and lead part of the research project
- Experience designing interactive systems with advanced AI/ML technologies (preferred)
