As a Counselor
, you will oversee all aspects of a patient’s treatment, coordinating care from admission through discharge and follow‑up. You will promote performance improvement by providing comprehensive psychological therapy to address the causes and effects of addiction, including substance abuse counseling, family, and group therapy.

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work, accredited by a state‑approved institution
- Three (3) years’ experience in substance use, mental health, or a related field
- Licensure or certification in one of the following: LPCC, LSW, LMFT, LPC, LICDC, LIDC‑CS, LCDC‑II, LCDC‑III, SWT (Registered Social Worker Trainee), MFTT
- Interface with the clinical team during decision‑making, attending all clinical meetings
- Assess counseling needs and substance use diagnosis using DSM and ASAM criteria
- Obtain previous records relevant to treatment episodes
- Prepare substance‑abuse counseling portions of treatment plans
- Provide counseling services as specified in treatment plans
- Develop discharge/continuum of care plans ensuring appropriate levels of care
- Participate fully as a multidisciplinary team member for assigned patients
- Document services, assessments, referrals, and follow‑ups in clinical records
- Maintain patient caseload and manage case‑management and utilization reviews
- Coordinate support services for patients and families, recording services in clinical records
- Reassess patients and revise counseling portions of plans as needed
- Facilitate family therapy sessions as assigned
- Coordinate with referral sources (legal, school, employer, etc.)
- Conduct crisis interventions using multidisciplinary approaches
- Perform administrative and clinical functions as requested
- Attend team meetings and complete required training courses
- Other duties as assigned
