Job DescriptionThe Supervisor, Clinical Operations ensures clinical sites and clinical lab sites in a designated region provide full support of the clinical practice needs for nursing students as defined by the nursing program's curriculum and state regulations. This position develops and maintains relationships with site leadership to ensure students receive optimal clinical practice experiences, and serves as designee for the State Director of Nursing (SDON) as required.
Responsibilities- Support the implementation and delivery of clinical experiential learning for the Pre‑Licensure nursing program.
- Coordinate clinical experiences, prepare faculty/staff schedules, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Supervise, manage, and evaluate clinical faculty.
- Maintain clinical relationships to meet programmatic standards and support program growth.
- Carry out departmental functions and participate in professional meetings in the absence of the SDON.
- Lead recognition activities for faculty and students.
- Conduct ongoing program evaluation for quality assurance.
- Recruit and review candidates for clinical and learning lab instructors.
- Conduct orientation of new faculty and staff.
- Prepare documentation required per state and university regulations.
- Represent the Pre‑Licensure nursing program to external constituencies.
- Support student progression and academic development within the program.
- Implement administrative policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Support the Strategic Relations team to represent WGU nursing externally.
- Support students in identifying learning needs and provide remediation within clinical settings.
- Ensure a safe and healthy work/learning environment for staff and students.
- Model professional standards and provide excellent customer service and communication.
- Conduct periodic clinical site visits to ensure placements meet learning objectives.
- Attend required Leavitt School of Health meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Master’s Degree in Nursing (education verified).
- Pre‑approved faculty status in the assigned state.
- One (1) year of teaching experience in pre‑licensure registered nursing programs.
- RN license in the state of instruction, unencumbered.
- Compliance with clinical facility requirements.
- Ability to work 12‑hour shifts in the clinical setting (am/pm, weekends, holidays).
- Basic management knowledge for scheduling, coaching, and process execution.
- Certified Nurse Educator (CNE)
