The Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Physical Therapist is currently licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of Ohio. This individual will work within a team oriented sports medicine rehabilitation program. These services are offered via outpatient service sites to patients who have disorders and conditions associated primarily with orthopedic and sports related injuries. The sports medicine team members report to the rehabilitation team leader as part of the OSU Sports Medicine program structure.
The Sports Medicine Physical Therapist works under the general supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine and under direct supervision of the Sports Medicine Rehab Team Leader. The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients in accordance with the laws and rules that govern the practice of physical therapy in the state of Ohio. Although team members report directly to a team leader they are also responsible to each other to those they supervise (rehab assistants and athletic trainers) and to other participants included in the patient care activities.
Practices within the Medical Center's policies and procedures. Adheres to the Intensive Caring Value statements as demonstrated through positive patient/guest relations positive and effective interactions with staff and formulating and meeting developmental goals.
Responsibilities- Work within a team oriented sports medicine rehabilitation program
- Provide outpatient services to patients with orthopedic and sports related injuries
- Evaluate and treat patients in accordance with Ohio laws and rules governing physical therapy practice
- Work under general supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine and direct supervision of the Sports Medicine Rehab Team Leader
- Coordinate care with rehab assistants, athletic trainers, and other team members involved in patient care activities
- Practice in compliance with the Medical Center's policies and procedures
- Demonstrate Intensive Caring Value statements through positive patient/guest relations and effective interactions with staff, and formulating and meeting developmental goals
- Current licensure with the State of Ohio Occupational Therapy Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Board
