Job Description Summary
The Emergency Services (EMS) Coordinator facilitates activities and relationships with EMS and other pre‑hospital care, transport, and education personnel and organizations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- 30% Facilitate the development, provision, and maintenance of programs, services, and processes designed to enhance relationships with EMS personnel and organizations; identify, improve, and resolve issues related to EMS; represent Grant Medical Center in the Central Ohio Trauma System (COT) Prehospital Committee and other selected organizations and committees.
- 15% Act as a knowledge resource for internal staff, departments, and committees, and external customers such as EMS personnel and organizations.
- 15% Manage the EMS Clinical Information for the Prehospital Performance Improvement process.
- 15% Facilitate development, provision, and maintenance of programs, services, and processes for EMS command, operations, planning, logistics, administration, and education for EMS students, instructors, personnel and organizations, including initial and continuing education both didactic and clinical; assist in research, trials, and studies; pursue current knowledge of local, regional, and national EMS practices and standards.
- 15% Facilitate the development, provision, and maintenance of information and technology‐based resources, such as websites (Grant ), discussion forums, publications, etc., for EMS personnel and organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School or GED (Required).
- BLS – Basic Life Support (American Heart Association).
- PMD‑OH – Paramedic (State of Ohio Division of EMS).
Additional Qualifications
Current Ohio Paramedic Certification (Paramedic or EMTP), Current Ohio EMS or CE Instructor. Current Provider Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Current provider in ITLS or PHTLS. National Registry of Paramedic (NRP), must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
