Overview
Clinical Research Assistant who provides daily operational support to the Total Cancer Care Program, TCCP, in the Comprehensive Cancer Center; serves as a liaison to administration for issues pertaining to gathering patient informed consent for biospecimen research; obtains patient informed consents at the James Cancer Hospital, University Hospital and clinics; coordinates work activities with team members; assists in the design of new consenting methods and data processing systems to maintain patient confidentiality;
collects, maintains and analyzes patient research data; prepares reports; maintains supplies and coordinates quality control processes; manages documentation related to patients on clinical trials; assists with preparation of meeting materials.
- Provide daily operational support to the Total Cancer Care Program (TCCP) in the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
- Serve as a liaison to administration for issues related to gathering patient informed consent for biospecimen research.
- Obtain patient informed consents at the James Cancer Hospital, University Hospital, and clinics.
- Coordinate work activities with team members; assist design of new consenting methods and data processing systems to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Collect, maintain and analyze patient research data; prepare reports.
- Maintain supplies and coordinate quality control processes; manage documentation related to patients on clinical trials.
- Assist with preparation of meeting materials.
- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, health sciences, social sciences, psychology, human ecology or other medical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a clinical research capacity or setting desired; experience with collection, analysis and management of clinical research data strongly desired; certification in a clinical research professional society desired.
- Human subjects training and experience in a clinical and/or research setting working with patients desired.
- Computer skills with experience utilizing Microsoft software applications; considerable experience utilizing database applications desired.
- Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
