Program Administrator IN-OFFICE

Job Overview

Program Administrator 2 (IN-OFFICE) – Ohio Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Office of Driver Services. Full-time, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This position reports into the Office of Driver Services Administrator and provides program direction by relieving higher-level duties related to BMV Legislative Initiatives & Programs.

• Serve as the primary BMV point of contact for large‑scale initiatives (e.g., Governor initiatives, legislative mandates).
• Collaborate with IT project managers, act as a Registrar Office liaison to the IT Governance Board for large projects.
• Serve as a BMV legislative liaison, coordinate with DPS Legal to ensure proposed legislation is feasible; analyze fiscal and operational impacts; ensure information filters through affected BMV sections.
• Advocate for legislation to enhance services and programs related to BMV policies & procedures; provide technical advice to BMV sections; communicate decisions & directives to appropriate staff.
• Manage and oversee the statewide deputy registrar RFP process of 183 deputy registrar contracts statewide; schedule program, monitor contracts, oversee grading & assessment of proposals, and advise Registrars Office on proposals received.

Minimum of four (4) years of business administration, management science, or public administration training/experience, OR an undergraduate core program in each of the following areas and two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience:

• Business administration, management science, or public administration.
• Academic field commensurate with program area assigned, with research, planning, or policy development experience.

Other acceptable qualifications include one year experience as Program Administrator 1, or equivalent to the minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
