Attorney or Research Analyst

Job Overview

LSC's Office of Research and Drafting (ORD) is seeking to fill several Attorney or Research Analyst positions. The day‑to‑day duties of an ORD staffer vary depending on the activity of the General Assembly.

• Draft legislation in the form of bills and amendments at the direction of legislators and their staff.
• Research topics on behalf of legislators and provide written or verbal summaries to the member or their staff.
• Analyze legislation.
• Attend committee hearings, track bills as they move through the legislative process, and provide assistance to legislators on the committee.
• Create written resources for the General Assembly on topics of interest.

The current starting salary for new professional ORD staff is $65,000. We offer merit‑based salary increases, opportunities to learn and grow in their careers, and a comprehensive state benefit package.
