The Finance Manager is responsible for assisting the Controller in the planning, overseeing and directing accounting operations with a primary focus on financial reporting and expenditures, including payroll. Additionally, the Finance Manager will assist in the coordination of the annual Benefit Plan audit. This position focuses on two major initiatives established by the Firm:
Client Focus and Brand Culture/Development.

Tasks
  • Process transactions and reporting in alignment with the Firm’s accounting principles, practices and procedures.
  • Assist in the safeguarding of assets through the monitoring and enforcing of internal controls.
  • Oversee accounts payable activities ensuring adequate review and oversight of outgoing payments.
  • Assist on the monitoring of month-end and year-end close processes. Oversee the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and assist in the analysis of multi-entity expense accounts on a monthly basis. Calculate year-end accruals and work with management to ensure complete and accurate information is included in the financials.
  • Assist in the Preparation and distribution of monthly internal financial statements for all legal entities individually and at a consolidated level. Analyze variances from budget monthly to ensure accuracy of financial information. Meet with service line leaders as needed to review financial results. Distribute financial statements for external use in compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Work with the Controller to organize and complete the annual 401(k) audit; work with outside auditors to provide necessary data and support for the completion of the audit.
  • Work with the Payroll and Benefits Manager to monitor payroll processing and provide back-up assistance as needed. Review bi-monthly payroll prior to final processing and analyze variances from budget.
  • Assist and prepare quarterly filings as it relates to sales and use tax.
  • Complete ad hoc requests from Leadership Team as requested.
  • Oversee maintenance of data held in practice management software ensuring fields are consistently used and accurate information is entered.

Work Experience|Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience required
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, preferably CPA
  • Experience with preparation of financial statements
  • Should be detail orientated, have strong multi-tasking skills, as well as possess strong organizational skills
  • Must have strong proficiency in the use of technology and PC applications, specifically, but not limited to, Adobe/PDF, Microsoft Office applications;
    Word, Excel, Outlook, including maintaining an inbox and calendar
Organizational Relationships
  • Will report directly to Performance Manager who will provide any necessary guidance relative to work performance through the formal evaluation process.
