Position: Columbus - Financial Analyst - PN: 20067499

Core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm; however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC’s seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Take ownership of preparing daily bank and other account reconciliations to support accurate and timely financial operations.
  • Prepare journal entries for an assigned fund using the Oracle GL system, contributing to the monthly GAAP‑basis financial statements and overall financial integrity.
  • Examine and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established reporting and procedural standards.
  • Apply strong critical‑thinking skills to manage time effectively, prioritize multiple tasks, solve problems, and draw clear, well‑supported conclusions.
Minimum Experience Requirements
  • 30 months experience or training in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.
  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 months experience or training in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.
  • Or 12 months experience as Financial Associate, 66561.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

    NOTE:

    Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 months of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
