As a team member in Finance at Nationwide, the opportunities are endless! Nationwide® "on your side" goes beyond just words. Our customers are at the center of everything we do and we’re looking for associates who are passionate about delivering extraordinary care.

Job Description:

In this role, the Associate will be responsible for representing Finance on projects that build new, or make enhancements to, annuity products and their related guarantees, investment options, and other features. The role will work closely with multiple areas within the organization to ensure successful launches of systems functionality to support these offerings; areas include IT, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Operations, and several areas within Finance.

The focus within projects is on the mathematical and logical components needed to support the annuity product offerings. For projects administered on existing administration systems, interactions with IT include knowledge transfers, requirement elicitation, testing support, and defect resolution. For projects launched on the new Annuity Modernization Accenture system the role will focus on customizing system parameters for our product features and calculations and then testing for accuracy.

Beyond systems projects, the team manages tools, via both creation and testing, that drive product sales illustrations and/or equipping our call center to support existing customers. In addition, the team assists with production defects, service recovery efforts, and annuity calculation questions.

Interested candidates should have a strong background in mathematics, the annuity line of business, and/or information systems/computer programming. Candidates must be eager to learn, demonstrate strong communication skills, and have a desire to collaborate.

This role offers an opportunity to gain detailed knowledge on annuity products, work with multiple areas within the organization, and support the Annuity Modernization program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide calculation and logic support on annuity projects; this includes knowledge sharing, creation of sample scenarios, clarifying requirements, configuring, testing, and post-implementation (defect management) phases of the project.
  • Provide support on annuity illustration tools; this can include creation of tools, enhancements to tools, or testing of third-party tools.
  • Creation, or modification to, tools that assist Operations or Call Center associates with complex calculations.
  • Analysis and support when defects are identified by IT, Operations, or Finance; this can include writing queries to identify impacted contracts and providing guidance on systems solutions to correct the calculations/logic.
  • Analysis and support as questions arise on calculations for the annuity products and their guarantees; this includes analysis and clear communication back to internal and/or external parties.

This role does not qualify for employer sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.
