About the Rates and Analysis Department
The Rates and Analysis Department participates in federal and state programs regarding energy policy, delivery, and reliability. It monitors and advises on utility conformance with prudent corporate oversight practices, energy efficiency and portfolio compliance requirements, handles utility rate change requests, and performs technical investigations. The department comprises accounting and finance, grid modernization, retail markets, and regulatory utility services divisions.

Hourly Rate: $35.31 commensurate with experience

E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43215, Franklin County
Schedule: Full-time, 8:00‑5:00 with flex available

What You’ll Do- Primarily serve as a cost of capital expert with responsibility to calculate and recommend cost of equity estimates as part of a rate of return study in rate case proceedings.
- Review financing applications seeking PUCO authorization to issue debt and/or equity securities.
- Apply appropriate financial methods and techniques to investigate financial statements and determine a company's profitability and financial capabilities for ongoing operations.
- Review corporate financial policy, practices, and budget processes.
- Monitor credit quality metrics and evaluate potential impacts of utility applications on financial condition and credit quality, including debt issuances, rate cases, corporate restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions.
- 24 months experience in criminal investigations; 60 months training or experience in state/federal laws, regulations, and agency policies governing investment securities and securities examinations; 1 course or 3 months experience in public relations; 1 course or 3 months experience in technical writing and report composition; 1 course or 3 months experience in general management principles; valid driver's license.
- Or 24 months experience examining financial records for a firm, agency, or financial institution; 60 months training or experience in state/federal laws, regulations, agency policies governing investment securities; 1 course or 3 months experience in public relations; 1 course or 3 months experience in general management principles; valid driver's license.
- Or completion of an undergraduate core program in business
