Overview

The Deposit Pricing & Analytics Analyst will work cross-functionally with partners to accelerate balance and customer acquisition, manage balance retention, and ensure the competitive positioning of deposit products across multiple geographies. This position supports the creation, maintenance, and execution of deposit rate strategies for the Consumer and Business portfolios, including development and management of pricing elasticity models to support balance growth and desired net interest margins.

This role requires effective collaboration with key bank partners, including line of business leadership, marketing, technology, enterprise project management, compliance, and finance. The role will participate in execution of projects to support enhancements, product launches and marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities
  • Develop / Manage Deposit Pricing models to optimize rate and marketing activities, including monitoring the competitive landscape and ensuring Northwest maintains its desired pricing stance.
  • Assist in the management of overall Net Interest Margin, partnering with Retail, Business and Commercial Lines and Treasury management to find the optimal pricing point to support balance acquisition and retention through economic cycles.
  • Execute short-term rate tactics, support the development of new product and rate concepts, and develop long-term product pricing and rate strategies.
  • Support the development / management of end-to-end bank exception rate processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders to execute all rate change implementations.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, marketing and sales to support product vision, recommendations on design/functionality, and execution of those visions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders on customer and market research and analytics to meet current year objectives.
  • Manage third-party relationships (e.g., Curinos) related to competitive insights, model development and deployment.
  • Research customer segments, conduct market assessments, and recommend actions to increase share of wallet and market share.
  • Assist in the development of annual and strategic financial plans for the Deposit Portfolio.
  • Create general ad hoc analyses within the deposit portfolio.
  • Maintain internal controls and support regulatory inquiries as needed.
  • Support vendor management responsibilities.
  • Market Research and Analysis: stay abreast of market trends, competitor offerings, and evolving client requirements; perform benchmarking related to our Deposit Rates and Product offerings.
  • Portfolio Management: monitor trends (P&L, balances, fee income, production, attrition); report to partners and recommend enhancements or corrective actions as needed.
  • Work closely with Treasury to support overall bank funding.
  • Risk Management:

    understand the first line of defense and the roles in risk management.
Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field

Work Experience
8 - 12 years in deposit pricing, rate analytics, and modeling

  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate information, determine causes, and propose alternatives with creative approaches.
  • Ability to allocate and effectively use information, personnel, time, and resources for strategic plans.
  • Ability to make timely decisions and take action within authority.
